Dall’s Porpoise
Phocoenoides dalli

Dall’s are a fast-moving porpoise found in deep waters near the North Pacific Ocean continent edges. The original image is a black and white, pen and ink illustration on scratchboard, commisioned as part of a series for the book “Between Species” about the human-dolphin connection. Color was later added in Photoshop. There are three other images in this series: Beluga, Killer Whale, and Bottlenose Dolphin.
